Just a year ago, I was reading these beautiful words from the Kozhnitzer Maggid, as many do on Simchas Torah. I began composing a tune, but put it aside and didn't revisit it. This year, as the news slowly broke out of Eretz Yisroel, we were once again reading this piyut in shul, and the words struck me in a totally different way. Amidst all the darkness, I found a glimmer of hope in these promises. The joy of the guela is bey ond our imagination. May it arrive swiftly!
