Hamavdil was composed by my father over 30 years ago for his second album “In This Place of Mercy”. The lyrics speak for themselves-the desire to take the sweetness and holiness of Shabbos with us throughout the week. Over the years, my brother Aryeh and I have had the zechus to re-release my father’s music with a new modern day sound. It’s our way of giving back to him for the gift of music he raised us with and instilled in us. It is even more special when we are able to produce these songs singing together with him, as I have done on this song Hamavdil. It is my hope that we could continue to reproduce my father’s beautiful nigunim and inspire the next generation with his songs.
