MAALAH YERUSHALAYIM – The Only Yiddish Speaking Full Service Child Development Center in Eretz Yisroel and Europe Your donation provides children-in-need with development treatments that impact them for life. Founded by residents of Meah Shearim in 2013, Maalah is the only center of its kind to offer evaluation and therapy services to children in Yiddish. The center features a psycho-diagnostic testing facility and a therapy department that provides a wide range of therapies, including: speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and remedial instruction. Upon arrival, each child is evaluated holistically — to define his needs at every level, and a diagnostic and assessment program is run by Maalah in conjunction with dozens of local educational institutions. Given that Yiddish is the mother tongue of most children living in the vicinity, it is crucial that their therapists ‘speak their language,’ and the organization employs multi-lingual staff for all its therapeutic services. But new challenges are on the horizon. Demand is growing. Resources are needed. That’s where you come in. It can’t happen without you. Maalah is warmly endorsed by Rabbonim and Askanim of the Jerusalem Eidah Hachareidis, and is also recognized by the Paediatric Neurology Department of Hadassah (Mt. Scopus). The hospital provides medical services in Maalah to the centre’s clientele, under the supervision of Dr. Ittai Berger. Providing a child with developmental treatment impacts him for life!
