"A Place for Everyone!" - Sheiner's Shul | Lev Leyeled | Mordchai Pinkas - ShmueliCast Ep. 70
The Shiner Shul is one of the most iconic places in Monsey.
It’s not just another shul. It’s a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year operation of davening, learning, and connecting to Hashem. A place where Yidden from all backgrounds feel welcome — no matter how someone looks, where he comes from, or what stage of life he is in, there is a seat, a sefer, a coffee, something to eat, and a feeling that he belongs.
In this episode, we sit down with Mordche Pinkas, one of the gabbaim of the Shiner Shul, to hear what it actually takes to keep such a major makom Torah and tefillah running day after day.
Mordche is a colorful figure who wears a lot of hats.
He is a gabbai, an English teacher, a longtime askan, a Rosh Hamadrichim in the summer, and a leader in Lev Layeled’s Monsey branch, an organization that gives children from divorced homes a place of warmth, strength, and connection during some of the hardest parts of their young lives.
We speak about the behind-the-scenes of the Shiner Shul, the responsibility of serving the public, the sensitivity needed when dealing with people, the work of Lev Layeled, chinuch, children, community, and what it means to quietly carry many different roles for Klal Yisroel.
A real conversation with a colorful person who has seen a lot, done a lot, and continues to give in ways most people never see.
