Shiloh - שילה
Gratitude in the Holy Land
With Franny Waisman
TYH Nation
Welcome back! In this episode, we’re going to be talking about the connection between prayer and tefillah. And today, we’re going to Shiloh, the first place we gathered together as a nation in the Land of Israel.
Here, we build the mishkan! Here, our ancestors traveled 3 times a year!
But soon, they started to forget.
And Elkanah decided to make a change. Year after year he’ll call people and say “It’s Shavuot! Let’s go and connect!”
But if we’re talking about tefillah, let’s talk about Chana, Elkana’s wife.
Chana comes year after year, to the mishkan, watching as her sister Penina has children, yet she remains childless. And she pours out her heart to Hashem.
Hashem, look at your world! Look that people are forgetting your mitzvos and chagim! You need this son more than I need this son! And I’ll dedicate him to you.
Who will her son be?
Shmuel HaNavi, who will anoint Klal Yisroel together under Shaul.
Chana feels so exalted, that it creates a funnel of connection between her and Hashem.
It creates beautiful things in the world!
