Mount Scopus - הַר הַצּוֹפִים
Gratitude in the Holy Land

Welcome to Mount Scopus!
Let's talk about R’ Shlomo Goren, chief rabbi of the IDF, and later, of Israel.
After the victory of the Kotel (“Har HaBayit b’yadeinu! Har HaBayit is in our hands!”) R’ Shlomo looks up with tear-filled eyes, filled with gratitude to be there at that moment.
He pours out his heart in tefillah, in Hallel. This feeling that burst forth is the same one that Shlomo Hamelech felt, and Chana before him. The idea of witnessing complete salvation, and being able to say thank you.
What are the things that happen in our own lives? What kind of gratitude do we feel? Do I have that perspective of gratitude? What do we say Hallel for?
Here is a place where Jews come from all over the world, united in prayer, in tefillah and in thanks. May we merit Jerusalem to be rebuilt b’mherah v’yamenu!
