The Noam Singers started with 5 Yeshiva University students in October, 1967: Rubin Cooper, Morton Frank, Israel Meller, Steven Schwartz and Leonard Weiner. Rube and Lenny left the group after 1 year due to other commitments. The group also included Jay Goldstein z'l on bass and Shmuel Leifer on tof. Their 3 record albums came out in 1968, 1969 and 1970. ​ The Noam Singers appeared in concert throughout the U.S. and Canada until 1973, including an appearance at Carnegie Hall in 1968. In 1987, they played a reunion concert in Toronto with Shlomo Carlebach.
