Chazzan Netanel Hershtik is the cantor at the Hampton Synagogue where he leads services from Memorial Day through the Chaggim. During the rest of the year, and the rest of the week, Tamira, Netanel and their family are active members of the Young Israel and greater Bergen County community. Netanel Hershtik made his singing debut standing next to his father Chazzan Naftali Hershtik at the amud of the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem. After serving as an IDF medic and attending Sha’arei Mishpat College of Law and the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute, Netanel began his solo career. Hershtik’s frequent appearances in Israel and worldwide include performances with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and many of the world’s leading choirs. He has sung at the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Vienna Konzerthaus, Sydney Opera House and the Casino de Paris, among other leading venues. He was the first cantor invited to perform a cantorial concert at the Berliner Philharmonie and at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and the first cantor to be featured by EL Al airlines at their infotainment systems. He made his Royal Opera debut in the 2017/18 Season as the Cantor in Na’ama Zisser’s new opera Mamzer Bastard and became the first cantor in history to assume an operatic cantorial role. His frequent TV appearances on PBS and the weekly shabbat and holiday service broadcasts at JBS TV, have been viewed by millions of viewers. His impressive achievements throughout his career, have positioned him as one of the most outstanding cantors in the world today.
