Rav Chaim Jacobson zt'l was born in Yerushalayim on Thursday, the 19th of Sivan 5709 (June 16, 1949). In his childhood, he was influenced by the melodies of Chassidic courts, cantorial music, and the Simchas Beis HaShoeivah celebrations. His compositions are characterized by a unique style that blends tradition with power, and emotion with joy. Throughout his life, he served as a teacher, mechanech, and educational supervisor, nurturing generations of thousands of talmidim of all ages. He used music to connect people, building bridges between cultures and sectors, communities and worldviews. He left behind hundreds of compositions, most of which were never professionally released or published. Music was his life's work —a labor of love pursued without thought of profit— which was cut short prematurely. "Shiras Chaim" was his motto: sing for the sake of life, for life itself is a song! He sang every day, all day long, to anyone willing to listen. He was suddenly called to his eternal rest, passing away peacefully —a "misas neshikah"— on Tuesday, the 2nd of Shevat 5782 (January 4, 2022). Yehi zichro baruch. L'Chaim!
