Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein ZTL was the founder of Ohr Yitzchak, Ateres Naava Seminary for Girls, and Ohr Naava Women's Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Ohr Naava is a unique program designed for women ages 17 through 120 who are interested in furthering their Torah experience. The program, which was under the leadership of Rabbi Wallerstein, started out as a Wednesday evening class in a small classroom known as a "Chabura." It brought together girls who had just returned from studying in Israel, college students who needed a weekly moment of inspiration, and most of all, Jews of different backgrounds with one common goal, to grow and change. The signature of Ohr Naava is to provide a multitude of programs, absolutely free of charge, for women wishing to make the time to grow, change and further their Torah knowledge. While Ohr Naava’s staff is ensuring that all programming remains in place, it was Rabbi Wallerstein who fundraised its multi-million dollar budget each year. Rosie Heilbrun was always told her red hair was a curse, but she never believed it. She often dreamed what it would look like under a white veil with the man of her dreams by her side. However, her life takes a harrowing turn in 1944 when she is forced out of her home and sent to the most gruesome of places: Auschwitz. Upon arrival, Rosie’s head is shaved and along with the loss of her beautiful hair, she loses the life she once cherished. Among the chaos and surrounded by hopelessness, Rosie realizes the only thing the Nazis cannot take away from her is the fierce redhead resilience in her spirit. When all of her friends conclude they are going to heaven from Auschwitz, she remains determined to get home. She summons all of her courage, through death camps and death marches to do just that. Her granddaughter, Nechama Birnbaum knew the world needed to know her grandmother's story. Her book "The Redhead of Auschwitz" is about the intricacies of Jewish culture that still exist today and the tender experiences that are universal to all humanity: family, coming of age, and first love. It is a story that celebrates believing in yourself no matter the odds. This is a story about the little redheaded girl who thought she could, and so she did. Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization, improves the lives of Jewish women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and saves lives through educational outreach. Sharsheret was founded in November 2001, four months after Rochelle Shoretz, a 28 year old young Jewish mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Immersed within a close-knit Jewish community in northern New Jersey, Rochelle had many offers to help with meals and to transport her sons to after-school programs. What she really wanted, though, was to speak to another young mom who was going to have to explain to her children that she was going to lose her hair to chemotherapy, and what it would be like to prepare for the High Holidays knowing she was facing a life-threatening illness. Though her grandmother had died of the disease, cancer was a taboo subject still not discussed within her family and, she soon recognized, within the Jewish community at large. In this episode, Yaakov speaks to Shlomo, Rochelle's eldest son, about his experiences and challenges with the cancer battle his mom fought. Rabbi Tzvi Kushlefsky, a respected rosh yeshiva based in Jerusalem, joyfully welcomed his firstborn son into the world this March at the age of 88. Rabbi Kushlefsky experienced the sorrow of becoming a widower at 82, having never had children with his first wife. He remarried six years later to Mrs. Rochel Daniella, an American woman aged 50 at the time, already a mother to several children. At 88, Rabbi Kushlefsky and his Rebbetzin, now 57, celebrated the birth of their first son together. The joyous event occurred at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, where the baby was born healthy, without any complications, thank God. The streets of Jerusalem near his yeshivas were alive with dancing as the community shared in his happiness. Mendy Levy: Escaping The Extremist Lev Tahor Cult & Finding Hashem

Mendy Levy was born in 2003 in Canada to parents who were members of Lev Tahor, an extremist Jewish cult founded in the 1980s. Shunned by members of other Jewish groups and facing a kidnapping scandal, its leader Shlomo Helbrans had moved Lev Tahor to Canada in the 1990s. Helbrans then moved the group to Guatemala in 2014, in the wake of child abuse investigations in Quebec. Levy escaped the group in 2018 and now splits his time between Canada and New York. Shlomo Helbrans drowned in Guatemala in 2017. US authorities arrested his son, Nachman Helbrans, and other Lev Tahor leaders in late 2018 and 2021. They're currently on trial in federal court in New York on kidnapping and fraud charges, to which they've pleaded not guilty. The remainder of Lev Tahor, which numbers an estimated 300 people, continues to live in Guatemala and has been unsuccessfully trying to move to Iran.
