Today is Rosh Chodesh Elul. The day marks the beginning of our journey towards Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. It is an emotional and intense period that involves self reflection a commitment. Although an anxious period, when we stand in shul in prayer, we are comforted by the beautiful words and the melodies that have been part of our service for generations.
