Keep holding on
Cover by Bracha Jaffe
A couple of days ago, I was inspired by the ever-so-true words of a fellow artist, @franciskamusic. She had posted an old song of hers that she had done a while back. She delved into the thoughts that often go through our minds when we do so. We’re critical of how we look, how we sound, our vocal technique, and all in all, how much better we could do now.
I related so strongly to her thoughts.
As some of you know, although I’m relatively new to Youtube, I’ve been in the music world for many years. Over time, I’ve recorded so many different beautiful songs and covers. Sometimes I think about sharing some oldies, but automatically I feel critical of myself and embarrassed. Tonight I decided to follow in Franciska’s steps and share and old recording with you all. I realized that while it’s great to look back and see how far we’ve come, we can also learn to embrace our old selves!
This song, “Keep holding on”, is a cover that I recorded back in 2012 for Ezer Mizion with my two friends, Ilana and Sima.
The message of this song actually ties in well with the theme of Franciska’s thoughts.
We all go through hardships. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But just as we can look back on old pictures and recordings and see how much has changed since then, we can also understand that with time, things will change. Life will get better. We can make it through the hardship to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I hope you all enjoy this old recording of “Keep holding on”.
