The small flame of a 3 year old girl does much to replace darkness with joy, respite, and peace. Imagine that all the the flames of our Shabbos and Chanukah lights come together. Moshes emotions don’t seem necessary to the story line. Torah is purposefully teaching us something by telling us Moshes emotions. He called the Rebbe personal phone number. Rabbi Klein felt bad for disturbing them. Rebbetzin answer "this is what we are here for" How do we get out of golus? Learning halacha, take responsibility for your fellow Yid who is in this choking situation, to the extent that it becomes your pleasure 2 partners want to make a wall, as partners. Focus on the UNITY that will be revealed a. For sure between each other, hidden and b. And in our relationship with Hashem We go into Hashem bank account and pull our the supplies we need to overcome the negativity of the golus This darkness is so powerful we are choking from it The halacha is that Hashem can kick in as the guarantor! Place of chessed not place of din. When we are in golus perspective, it feels not so simple to get Hashem on board. Need to make it happen But when we learn the yerushalmy - clear light, clear perspective, then we know the partnership of hashem and yidden is clear. We just need to let Hashem know we are in pain. Let Hashem know about the pain of golus and say to Hashem "ad mosai!" Just Hashem seeing a Yid in this moment of pain and Ad Mosai - Hashem will take responsibility for his beloved nation. Ki Sisa, Chelek Chof Vov, page 248 Whats good about being broken? Moshe broke the Luchos and Hashem said "yasher koach!" Hashem agreed with Moshe and praised him. The yidden served the eigel, Moshe saved the honor of the Torah, etc - this could make sense, but the Rebbe says - no! Its not enough! Moshe could have just hid the luchos (toss into the ocean :)) - why specifically break them? There is something praiseworthy of broken luchos. We see that Moshe was sad about it and Hashem comforted him - the second set of luchos came along with Torah She'baal Peh too! With more, expansion! The 2nd set was an upgrade! And Moshe was praised after the 2nd set was given. The broken luchos made space for something bigger. Breaking the luchos in front of the yidden, broke us open allowing us to be open to Hashem, open to a bigger, better, expanded future. So is being broken the way to go? NO! The secret of the luchos 1 & 2 - broken & whole - is where they were kept - together, in the Aron! The Aron had measurements, yet took no space - the holding of 2 opposites together. Just like we should bring the 2 opposites of broken luchos & whole luchos together. We each have an aron in our hearts and are empowered to live with these 2 aspects together: broken, allowing the space for Hashem in, and whole - being myself fully invested with all my strengths and full self (not a robot). And from the broken moments, we can grow and double and redouble accomplishments! "Why does Hashem break us?" We should have Moshiach NOW and then we can see the greatness of the journey!

Through a conversation with the Tzemach Tzedek & the Alter Rebbe, our Rebbe highlights an integral message Torah is telling us - Adam is written with a big Alef, even after the ""Chait Eitz Hadaas"" - because of his G-d given incredible greatness, essential to him, unmarred by his mistakes. In Vayikra, the alef is written in small - telling us of Moshes humility. Moshe KNEW of his greatness - did not let it ""get to his head"" and he seeked to compare himself to others, and note of their greatness. This is not just a simple piece, its a direct Chinuch Answer from A""R to T""T ~ and a DIRECTION for each of us! (Adam in Us) We must have an honest awareness of our essential greatness! We are a piece of Hashem! We must know our abilities and inherent greatness, regardless of our mistakes or our past. (Moshe in Us) And yet, we must understand that greatness can be a ""trip up"". We remain humble and understand the bigger picture, being able to make proper choices in life. #1 Ingrain in yourself that your talent is a GIFT, I didnt make it, I only choose what to DO with it. and #2: Seek out the greatness in others! As we go into the final days of Pesach, the Geulah days, we dive into Rambams approach to the coming of Moshiach being "within nature". The Rambam explains that the core of Geulah is a natural world in which every Jew can fully live in alignment with Torah & mitzvos, deeply connected to Hashem. The Rebbe explains this as 2 stages of Moshiach. 1st stage - natural, 2nd stage - all the "extras" miracles! Miracles are not the essence, they are add ons, expressions of our incredible closeness with Hashem. (think wedding - covid times, we got the "essence" of the weddings - the bride, groom, and chuppah, vs regular times - with all add ons, dont lose sight of the essence). In the two stages of Geulah, the first is a natural reality where Moshiach empowers us to connect to Hashem in this world, and the second is a miraculous enhancement. But if we are zoche, if we live as our best selves today, those miracles can begin immediately. The Rebbe empowers us to believe in our own greatness and to break past our limits—this is really a miracle! Transcending nature. Parshas Emor, Likkutei Sichos lamed zayin, page 67 This sicha dives into Torah's mention of Shlomis bas Divri and her illicit relationship with an Egyptian man. Rashi tells us this is mentioned to praise the yidden that this was the only time this happened, and that there were no arayos within the yidden at this time. But still, why would Torah use this negative instance to highlight a positive praise of the yidden? This can be compared to someone doing true teshuva - a past negative now becomes like a merit. Something negative can happen but when that is a growth point, a springboard for positive growth & action, then the negative thing takes on positive purpose. In todays time this is a way that we can even elevate shalosh klipas hatamayus. If a person does such great teshuva that his past actions become now true zchusim, then this elevates the past klipah. There is no such thing as a lost case. We are in golus, people make mistakes, so then what? We dont give up, we use it a springboard for teshuva, and this uplifts the past. Looking back, there is purpose for the difficult or negative things someone may end up involved in - moving forward, we use it to grow even closer to Hashem, even more kedusha. And when we look at someone else, we dont write them off, our job is to highlight the good, take that persons negative story and highlight the zchusim in it.

This sicha spoke about "pintele yid chinuch" A comment from when we first discussed it " i was listening to the part abt holding high standards like the kohen even when the child doesn’t understand and doesn’t want that. Today one of my students shared a story abt the group that was brought after the Chernobyl disaster to kfar Chabad. The organizers were concerned abt a huge group of girls that came with their own clothing. Should they have standards of tznius? The Rebbe answered that the standard should be high to the level of the community. But they should buy the girls really nice clothing. Thought that was a nice example of this type of chinuch. Going for the high standard but making it something that works for this child."

With gratitude to Etty & Mrs. Shapiro for making Chassidus so accessible to women, bringing Moshiach now! *A quick and smooth Refuah sheleima for Yehuda Leib ben Manya, we are all davening for you! Yaakov asked Yosef not to leave him in Mitzrayim, and Yosef promised he wouldn’t. Then Yaakov said, “Swear to me,” and Yosef made a shvua. Why both a promise and a shvua? A promise means “I’ll do it when I can,” but a shvua makes it front and center - something you live with constantly. On a deeper level, a shvua means commitment beyond logic: even if it doesn’t make sense, I’ll still do it. Yosef’s mission was to bring Hashem into the golus and uplift it. He could have reasoned that Yaakov - with all his holiness - should stay in Mitzrayim to help elevate it. But Yaakov said no - “Swear to me you’ll take me out.” Yaakov’s role was to remain above the golus, like the person standing outside a cave holding the rope to lift the one inside. Yosef and Yaakov represent two roles: Yosef transforms the darkness from within; Yaakov stays above and pulls us toward Geulah. Our takeaway: In our own “golus moments,” be a Yosef - bring Hashem into whatever you’re facing and ask, “What does Hashem want from me here?” But also be a Yaakov - never get comfortable in the darkness. Stay mindful, keep striving, and cry out, “Hashem, lift me up out of this golus!”

Chelek Tes vov. Pg 331 In the story of Yehuda and Tamar, Tamar asks for Yehuda’s signet ring, cloak, and staff, items that marked his unique identity. The Rebbe explains that the ring with its seal reflects a deep truth: the ring represents the natural world,, while the seal represents Shabbos/above nature- the awareness that all of nature belongs to Hashem. The seal is not separate from the ring; it’s part of it and transforms the whole ring into something marked by its owner. So too, our everyday, natural life must be permeated with the “seal” of mesiras nefesh—the mark of miracles and total connection to Hashem. We are celebrating the Rebbe & Rebbetzins 90th Wedding Anniversary! In this Sicha we learn about the Teshuva accomplished by a wedding, based off the wedding of Esav to Yishmae'ls daughter. Like Yom Kippur, a wedding brings Kaparah through either a) the marriage itself b) the wedding inspires the person to do Teshuva or c) the specialness of the Mitzvah/Moment motivates you. The Torah uses Esav's wedding to teach us about Teshuva - Esav is not perfect by any means, but he is a Yid and the wedding sparks our neshamos, all of us - no matter our level. We can use the koach of 14 Kislev to apply this to us in our daily avodah. Marriage between man & woman has a purpose of Peru Urevu. Marriage of Hashem and Yidden has a purpose of Torah, Mitzvos. When you teach someone to do a mitzvah, mekarev another with coming closer to Torah, Mitzvos or Yidden, these are peiros of peru urevu. We live now in disorderly times, the world is crazy - if something comes your way - just grab it! (ie Dorm Food Mentality). "A chassid is like a soccer player, if the ball comes your way, you gotta kick it!" We have to save neshamos! I commit. Hashem kicks in. My commitment = wedding day. This commitment = uplifts, give koach, enables me to be more committed. This brings a cycle of Koach! But I might think: what about me, im not great enough..im really low - your past doesnt matter (Esav)! In this week’s sicha the Rebbe explores why Noach didn’t daven for his generation as Moshe later did. Reb Yehuda explains that this wasn’t Noach’s fault, he simply lived before the Avos, whose merit empowered Moshe’s prayers. Reb Yitzchak, however, argues that even without those merits, Noach still should have prayed for others; somehow, he could have found a way to arouse mercy for his generation. Reb Levik explains that these two views reflect their inner traits: Reb Yehuda’s chessed versus Reb Yitzchak’s gevurah. We know dan l’kaf zechus- judging others favorably - isn’t only for those with a kind nature; it’s a rule for every Jew, no matter their temperament. The discussion parallels Rashi’s comment on “Noach ish tzadik bedorosav” - was Noach righteous only in his generation or would he have been even greater among true tzadikim? If the Torah prefers positive language, why mention a possible negative? The Rebbe explains that when Torah describes a person, it always uses positive language, but when it teaches a lesson, clarity takes priority - even if it sounds critical. Guidelines must be clear. Here the Torah isn’t telling us biographical details about Noach, but giving us guidance: to learn from Noach’s limits, not to imitate them. Noach did the best he could in his generation, but for us the lesson is not to stop at “I did my part.” Like Reb Yitzchak emphasizes, we must never give up on anyone; even when a situation seems hopeless, we can, and must, continue to daven and reach out. This teaching carries powerful relevance today. Sometimes we feel we’ve tried everything to inspire others or fix a situation, and we tell ourselves it’s out of our hands. But the Rebbe reminds us: don’t stop praying, don’t stop believing, and don’t stop caring. The very act of staying committed brings divine mercy and opens new channels of blessing. Just as Moshe, a man of emes, wanted us to follow in Aharon’s ways of peace, we can “do Noach a favor” by learning from his story and choosing differently - never giving up on a fellow Jew, always believing in the possibility of change, and bringing closer the time when “no Jew will ever be lost again.”
