50. Vayikra: Humility & Greatness

Mar 13, 2019

25:45

"Empowering & beautiful sicha! Chinuch for ourselves ~ how do we view ourselves? How do we view others? Through a conversation with the Tzemach Tzedek & the Alter Rebbe, our Rebbe highlights an integral message Torah is telling us - Adam is written with a big Alef, even after the ""Chait Eitz Hadaas"" - because of his G-d given incredible greatness, essential to him, unmarred by his mistakes. In Vayikra, the alef is written in small - telling us of Moshes humility. Moshe KNEW of his greatness - did not let it ""get to his head"" and he seeked to compare himself to others, and note of their greatness. This is not just a simple piece, its a direct Chinuch Answer from A""R to T""T ~ and a DIRECTION for each of us! (Adam in Us) We must have an honest awareness of our essential greatness! We are a piece of Hashem! We must know our abilities and inherent greatness, regardless of our mistakes or our past. (Moshe in Us) And yet, we must understand that greatness can be a ""trip up"". We remain humble and understand the bigger picture, being able to make proper choices in life. #1 Ingrain in yourself that your talent is a GIFT, I didnt make it, I only choose what to DO with it. and #2: Seek out the greatness in others! Get to know how incredible you are and then tap into it! Right now - you have the big Alef ~ you can rise above! you can accomplish! Regardless of my previous habits, past, etc. And look at others and realize, if someone else had these gifts, they could use it better. Look at others & seek out their greatness, talent and beauty!"Likkutei Sichos chelek yud zayin, page 1

Parshas Bereishis. Empower Women. How is it that Adam Harishon tripped up and ate from Eitz Hadaas? How is it that we do the same thing - something that seems so easy to do right, and yet we find ourselves falling short? And what was Chavas role in the Eitz Hadaas? What has changed since Matan Torahs time? This is a very empowering Sicha and a beautiful start to a new year! Jan 1, 2026

34:35

Chelek Chof Hey pg 270. Hashem, lift me out of here! This week’s Sicha learning is honor of:*Esty Tsap, in honor of her birthday today, Yud Beis Teves!*Brochie Altabe, in honor of her birthday, Vav Teves, and wishing arichus yamim and good health to her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Hecht. With gratitude to Etty & Mrs. Shapiro for making Chassidus so accessible to women, bringing Moshiach now! *A quick and smooth Refuah sheleima for Yehuda Leib ben Manya, we are all davening for you!Yaakov asked Yosef not to leave him in Mitzrayim, and Yosef promised he wouldn’t. Then Yaakov said, “Swear to me,” and Yosef made a shvua. Why both a promise and a shvua? A promise means “I’ll do it when I can,” but a shvua makes it front and center - something you live with constantly. On a deeper level, a shvua means commitment beyond logic: even if it doesn’t make sense, I’ll still do it. Yosef’s mission was to bring Hashem into the golus and uplift it. He could have reasoned that Yaakov - with all his holiness - should stay in Mitzrayim to help elevate it. But Yaakov said no - “Swear to me you’ll take me out.” Yaakov’s role was to remain above the golus, like the person standing outside a cave holding the rope to lift the one inside. Yosef and Yaakov represent two roles: Yosef transforms the darkness from within; Yaakov stays above and pulls us toward Geulah. Our takeaway: In our own “golus moments,” be a Yosef - bring Hashem into whatever you’re facing and ask, “What does Hashem want from me here?” But also be a Yaakov - never get comfortable in the darkness. Stay mindful, keep striving, and cry out, “Hashem, lift me up out of this golus!”

25:48

Chelek Tes vov. Pg 331In the story of Yehuda and Tamar, Tamar asks for Yehuda’s signet ring, cloak, and staff, items that marked his unique identity. The Rebbe explains that the ring with its seal reflects a deep truth: the ring represents the natural world,, while the seal represents Shabbos/above nature- the awareness that all of nature belongs to Hashem. The seal is not separate from the ring; it’s part of it and transforms the whole ring into something marked by its owner. So too, our everyday, natural life must be permeated with the “seal” of mesiras nefesh—the mark of miracles and total connection to Hashem. That’s why marriage is done with a ring, learned from Yehuda and Tamar, because marriage itself blends the natural and the infinite, bringing Hashem’s presence into the cycle of life. When we live with that awareness, our ordinary days become miraculous, our homes reflect Hashem’s infinity, and we help bring the world to its ultimate marriage - the revelation of Moshiach.

Join us in honor of Yud Tes Kislev ➜ JewishNSU.com/BeTheLightSummary: Chelek Chof Hey pg 204: Remember the POINT of it allYosef’s dreams weren’t about him, they revealed Hashem’s plan: that each of the brothers have their unique avodah, but Yosef's way would be the one to take us from galus to geulah. Their “jealousy” was spiritual, each striving to serve Hashem in the deepest way. Yaakov anchored them by “shamor es hadavar”, remembering the point of it all: it’s not about me or you, but what Hashem wants done.Everyone needs Yosef, so too with Chassidus Chabad, its for everyone! So too, Yud Tes Kislev marks when the Maggid, just before he passed away, said to the Alter Rebbe “this will be a day of our celebration” taking the Baal Shem Tovs & Maggids Chassidus and turning it into a maayan that will impact everyone and bring us from golus to geulah.Today we see it happening—the maayanos reaching every corner of the world. Let’s not get caught up in ourselves, and in the differentiation, and lets stay focused on the mission!

35. Vayeishev: Yud Daled Kislev

Dec 4, 2025

34:37

We are celebrating the Rebbe & Rebbetzins 90th Wedding Anniversary! In this Sicha we learn about the Teshuva accomplished by a wedding, based off the wedding of Esav to Yishmae'ls daughter. Like Yom Kippur, a wedding brings Kaparah through either a) the marriage itself b) the wedding inspires the person to do Teshuva or c) the specialness of the Mitzvah/Moment motivates you. The Torah uses Esav's wedding to teach us about Teshuva - Esav is not perfect by any means, but he is a Yid and the wedding sparks our neshamos, all of us - no matter our level. We can use the koach of 14 Kislev to apply this to us in our daily avodah. Marriage between man & woman has a purpose of Peru Urevu. Marriage of Hashem and Yidden has a purpose of Torah, Mitzvos. When you teach someone to do a mitzvah, mekarev another with coming closer to Torah, Mitzvos or Yidden, these are peiros of peru urevu. We live now in disorderly times, the world is crazy - if something comes your way - just grab it! (ie Dorm Food Mentality). "A chassid is like a soccer player, if the ball comes your way, you gotta kick it!" We have to save neshamos! I commit. Hashem kicks in. My commitment = wedding day. This commitment = uplifts, give koach, enables me to be more committed. This brings a cycle of Koach! But I might think: what about me, im not great enough..im really low - your past doesnt matter (Esav)! I make it my business to commit to Hashems work and the Rebbes directives of doing my shlichus, and Hashem will uplift and empower! And this will bring about the complete marriage between Hashem & the Yidden with Moshiach!

Geulah malachim reveal how extraordinary we truly are and how much we’ve already accomplished. That awareness gives us new koach to complete the last bits of our avodah. Even now, while still in galus, Hashem’s special escort guards us every step, surrounding us with protection and honor, as the nations themselves line up to serve us. We don’t need to fear bad influences or feel pressured to “fit in”—we already have geulah malachim walking with us. This knowledge lets us drop the fear, leave defensive mode behind, and step forward with confidence and dignity, tending to our “pachim ktanim” and crossing our final borders into geulah—openly, proudly, and with the honor every Yid deserves.✨ This Sicha learning is sponsored by:🩷 Esther Weiner In honor of her dear daughter Shaina Rivka bas Esther Rochel on her birthday! 🎉 May she have a shnas bracha v’hatzlacha mit aleh brachos — from alef to taf, iy”H!🎉 Happy Birthday to fellow shlucha Raizy Mendelsohn! 237. Noach: Daven, Dont Give Up on Anyone!

Oct 24, 2025

32:08

Chelek Chof Hey, page 19: Dont give up on anyoneThis sicha learning is in zchus of a Refuah Sheleima for Levi HaLevi ben Leah!In this week’s sicha the Rebbe explores why Noach didn’t daven for his generation as Moshe later did. Reb Yehuda explains that this wasn’t Noach’s fault, he simply lived before the Avos, whose merit empowered Moshe’s prayers. Reb Yitzchak, however, argues that even without those merits, Noach still should have prayed for others; somehow, he could have found a way to arouse mercy for his generation. Reb Levik explains that these two views reflect their inner traits: Reb Yehuda’s chessed versus Reb Yitzchak’s gevurah. We know dan l’kaf zechus- judging others favorably - isn’t only for those with a kind nature; it’s a rule for every Jew, no matter their temperament. The discussion parallels Rashi’s comment on “Noach ish tzadik bedorosav” - was Noach righteous only in his generation or would he have been even greater among true tzadikim? If the Torah prefers positive language, why mention a possible negative? The Rebbe explains that when Torah describes a person, it always uses positive language, but when it teaches a lesson, clarity takes priority - even if it sounds critical. Guidelines must be clear. Here the Torah isn’t telling us biographical details about Noach, but giving us guidance: to learn from Noach’s limits, not to imitate them. Noach did the best he could in his generation, but for us the lesson is not to stop at “I did my part.” Like Reb Yitzchak emphasizes, we must never give up on anyone; even when a situation seems hopeless, we can, and must, continue to daven and reach out. This teaching carries powerful relevance today. Sometimes we feel we’ve tried everything to inspire others or fix a situation, and we tell ourselves it’s out of our hands. But the Rebbe reminds us: don’t stop praying, don’t stop believing, and don’t stop caring. The very act of staying committed brings divine mercy and opens new channels of blessing. Just as Moshe, a man of emes, wanted us to follow in Aharon’s ways of peace, we can “do Noach a favor” by learning from his story and choosing differently - never giving up on a fellow Jew, always believing in the possibility of change, and bringing closer the time when “no Jew will ever be lost again.”
