Blizzard impacts Northeast Prince William Sound Alaska this Tuesday. Denver, Colorado has an uncertain significant snow in their forecast. Winter weather pattern takes over Cheyenne, WY and Scottsbluff, Nebraska but 1st a wind storm moves through Tuesday. Heavy rain maker with unseasonable warmth impacts Chicago Monday night 11/4/24, with the high risk severe weather risk from the Southern Plains to mid-Mississippi moving east for Monday and Tuesday. An impactful winter storm has developed over Colorado. In fact, the National Weather Service is calling this a historical storm. The development of this storm has been the question of the week for forecasters and its development is an exciting moment for weather enthusiasts. Blizzard warnings have been issued for parts of Colorado. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Denver.  This past Sunday we did an episode on this podcast that mentioned the European computer model forecasting 6 -12 inches for areas well to the South East of Denver and 6 inches for Denver. The National Weather Service said in most likelihood an Impactful Winter Storm will not develop. Winter weather pattern takes over on January 1st or a few hours before. This pattern is expected to last for the remainder of the 2 week forecast cycle. A storm is expected to develop in the southern plains Saturday evening and bring a major snowfall to portions of the state of Missouri on Sunday 1/5/24. The system might fall apart for places East of the Mississippi. There is also a chance it could strengthen. The forecast becomes very difficult for places East of the Mississippi River. Low pressure of 29.6 tracks from the Southern High Plains to Mid-Atlantic area. Precipitation of a convective nature is occurring even on its cold side bringing thundersnow to areas that don't normally see this. Portions of Kansas will be seeing it's heaviest snowfall in 60 years as 12+ inches falls within a relatively short period of time. Storm starts to develop a negative tilt as it brings in strong Arctic air on its back side while copious gulf moisture feeds into the system. Areas that receive 0.5 inches of ice or more could expect to see at least some power outages. This storm will impact many major cities across states in the central U.S. to Mid-Atlantic. This includes St.Louis, Cincinnati, Baltimore and even Washington D.C. where 5 to 10 inches is currently forecasted. This episode discusses all this in more detail. A record breaking low pressure system of 28.8 moves across the Midwest on Purim Day (3/14). This powerful Spring Storm system will have triple digit heat on its warm side along with severe weather including long lasting tornadoes (not in same areas). Powerful Blizzard develops in upper Midwest. Wind Storm will follow this system and become a widespread event for Shabbos (Saturday 3/15) Shushan Purim.
