272. VaEschanan: Forget...To Connect

Jul 21, 2026

34:16

Chelek Lamed Daled pg 24. The Torah warns us not to forget what we've learned, yet if someone forgets because circumstances genuinely prevented them from reviewing, it isn't considered "forgetting" at all. Why? Because they never let go of the Torah - the Torah remained their priority. Sometimes, what looks like stepping away is actually the deepest expression of connection. Reb Zeira intentionally forgot the Talmud Bavli he had learned so he could fully absorb the Talmud Yerushalmy. Moshe broke the Luchos to preserve the Torah forever. In both cases, a temporary "loss" became the foundation for something far greater. What does Hashem want from me? Am i aligning myself with Torah as my life force? Use that as the guiding force. Am I stepping away ("forgetting") because I'm disconnecting, or because, for this moment, this is what Hashem wants from me? Sometimes moving away from something might be the strongest expression of connection. This Week's Sicha Learning is in Honor of:*An anonymous listener, in honor of her birthday on 6 Av, with brachos for herself and her family in all areas.* Chaya Bunia bas Leah Frieda, whose birthday is on Tishah B'Av, wishing you a shnas bracha v'hatzlacha!*Rochel Kaplan - l'ilui nishmas her father, Yehuda Leib ben Peretz Mochkin, whose yahrtzeit is on Tishah B'Av. Jul. 9, 2026 | Tammuz 24, 5786 Chelek chof ches page 210This week’s Sicha learning is in honor of:The Sirota family, celebrating the birth of Esther Sirota on 24 Tammuz, with wishes of L’Torah, L’Chuppah, U’Maasim Tovim and many continued simchos. An anonymous sponsor in honor of her birthday.Chana Miriam Huebner, in honor of her son Nosson’s birthday on 24 Tammuz.Shaina Zirkind, l’ilui nishmas Harav HaChassid R. Mordechai Shachneh Zirkind, on his 11th yahrtzeit, 24 Tammuz. The upcoming yahrtzeit of Rabbi Vichnin, a beloved and inspiring mechanech, on 26 Tammuz. The Rebbe teaches that the territory east of the Jordan can represent either a compromise with exile or the beginning of redemption. Gad and Reuven chose it for material reasons, but Menashe received it from Moshe as part of Hashem’s plan to extend the holiness of Eretz Yisrael and prepare for the ultimate expansion of its borders in the era of Moshiach. The key is attitude: a Jew may be sent beyond familiar boundaries on a holy mission, yet must never lose the deep love for Eretz Yisrael or become settled in golus. Like Menashe, we are called to remember our true home, reject the mentality of exile, and use every place we find ourselves to advance Moshe’s vision and bring the Geulah closer.

265. Naso: Carry Torah Close To My Heart

May 28, 2026

39:34

Chelek Chof Ches pg 49. Carrying the Torah close to my heart is the correct location for the Torah. The Rebbe explains a powerful difference between the Aron and the other keilim of the Mishkan. While the Leviim transported all the holy objects, the Aron had a unique requirement: “upon the shoulder they shall carry it.” The Rambam brings the story of Dovid and Uzah not as history, but as halacha, the Aron itself requires a specific place. Because it contains the Luchos and a Sefer Torah, its place is to be carriedon the shoulders, close to your heart.. Similarly, a Sefer Torah always has a place it belongs: in the Aron Kodesh in shul, and close to one’s heart during travel. In Chassidus, the Luchos represent a revelation of “Hashem’s face”, a direct pnimiyus connection created through Torah. This is the deeper meaning of facing the Aron while carrying it: where a person’s focus, identity, and geshmak truly lie. As we come from Shavuos and approach Gimmel Tammuz, the avodah is to keep our “faces” turned toward the Rebbe’s inyanim and the Torah of the Rebbe, making sure our geshmak is in the holy stuff. With a HUGE thank you to this Week’s Sicha Sponsors:Anonymous, in honor of the birthday and shidduch of our sister.Mrs. Nathanson, in honor of the yahrtzeit of her father, Mordechai ben Shlomo, on Erev Shavuos, and her grandmother, Basya bas Mordechai, on the second day of Shavuos. 56. Kedoshim Other Centered

May 8, 2019

21:09

This sicha is based off of the possuk "You must not place an obstacle before a blind person" If this instruction were meant to be taken literally, it would be superfluous, since the laws regarding personal damages have already been laid down in parashas Mishpatim. It also cannot only be meant to refer to giving bad advice to someone who is “blind” and unaware or ignorant in a certain area, since that, too, is covered in the prohibition against causing damage. Rather, this verse forbids giving sound advice with ulterior motives. For example, you may not tell a naïve person to sell his field and buy a donkey so that you can then buy his field. Even if this advice is actually advantageous for the “blind” person, it is still prohibited on account of the motivation of the advisor. The Torah is teaching us the proper approach towards helping others. In order to help another yid, we must rid ourselves of any self-oriented motivation, focusing instead solely on the needs of the other person. This gives us a powerful message about Ahavas Yisroel - how far we should go for the well being of a fellow yid. The goal is not only about the other's "good" results, but that in the process, you were doing it only to help him, and not at all with your own agenda. Try to put yourself completely in their place. And only when you do that are you able to avoid subjectivity. When you really feel like your fellow yid is YOU, you have true unity with him, then you will be fully invested in him as if you would be in yourself. As a spouse, parent, shlucha, mechanech, doing chessed for others - remember this mitzvah and put ourselves and our own agenda aside, and not guide someone for our own reason - this is the epitome of v'ahavta lrayacha kamocha.Chelek Chof Zayin pg 141-148

"Sicha #174: *Parshas Matos-Maasei,* Chelek Chof Gimmul page 214. My body's experience and ability is the deepest expression of Hashem’s power. Menachem Av - We bring our father comfort. This week's learning sponsored by 3 individuals!*Chaya Musha bas Devorah Leah* & *Henna Shomer*both in honor of their Yom Huledes - May this learning be a zchus for a shnas bracha, ad bli dai!!* Thank you for choosing these sichos as your birthday gift!Learning sponsored also by *Susan Shapiro* in honor of the yahrtzeit of her mother (my Safta!) *Basya bas Nessa*. May her neshama have an aliyah and endless nachas! Want to get in on sponsoring? PM me! *Sicha Summary Notes* Ever had a moment where you were really *stuck* in your own challenge? In this month of Menachem Av, we comfort Hashem for the pain He is in.There are 2 dimensions of Hashem’s pain of being in golus1. *Shchina is with the yidden in Golus.* When we experience our Geulah it is Hashem’s Geulah. Our neshamos are always Godly, no choice there, but our bodies - that dont reflect godliness, those Hashem chose! When we are physically (body) in golus, so is Hashem.2. Like a king who said to his servants, if you are looking for me, *I am going to be next to my son.*What is deeper about this that is being added?Differentiation! Jewish Mothers - *we get it!* Where my kid is, that's where Ill be.*2 different situations*The father feels obvious cherishing of the child, bringing nachas! Warm fuzzy feeling, my delicious child, i'm with them! - neshama part of the yid, *nachas producer* , neshama is never affected by the golusRebbe adding! This is also true when it comes to the body. The body does NOT show Hashem. It looks just as coarse as other bodies. Mashal - if you are looking for me, I am going to be with my son. Ya this is my kid, i go with him everywhere he is at. *Hashem is with us in our tumah* . *Essential connection*Only in the Jewish Body (vs soul) do you see the connection of Hashems essence. I'm with my kid. Period.Hashem is ALWAYS with us. Menachem Av - Hashem is here as the father to his child.Level 1 nachas connection - *neshama experience*Level 2 essential connection - *body experience*Taking this even deeper...We also suffer loss, How can we comfort Hashem? The greatness of what the child can do > parentsLike a blue eyed child born from brown eyed parents, the child reveals a recessive gene his parents have, but did not display. You have incredible power! Show up with all the emunah, all the positivity - WOW! This was always there in Hashem but not expressed until a Yid does this.We have the ability through our physical struggles, we are bringing out a koiach always there in Hashem - that had not yet been brought out.*All of us showing up in Mitzvos, Torah, we are bringing out Hashems “recessive DNA”. there is no such thing as a ME struggle - don't ever feel alone, you are Hashems essence being expressed*. Feel empowered! We can define the golus, tap into incredible koiach, Hashems essence pumping through us. Shift to new approach: Moshiach!"

57. Emor: Highlight Zchusim, Shlomis bas Divri

May 15, 2019

26:56

Parshas Emor, Likkutei Sichos lamed zayin, page 67 This sicha dives into Torah's mention of Shlomis bas Divri and her illicit relationship with an Egyptian man. Rashi tells us this is mentioned to praise the yidden that this was the only time this happened, and that there were no arayos within the yidden at this time. But still, why would Torah use this negative instance to highlight a positive praise of the yidden? This can be compared to someone doing true teshuva - a past negative now becomes like a merit. Something negative can happen but when that is a growth point, a springboard for positive growth & action, then the negative thing takes on positive purpose. In todays time this is a way that we can even elevate shalosh klipas hatamayus. If a person does such great teshuva that his past actions become now true zchusim, then this elevates the past klipah. There is no such thing as a lost case. We are in golus, people make mistakes, so then what? We dont give up, we use it a springboard for teshuva, and this uplifts the past. Looking back, there is purpose for the difficult or negative things someone may end up involved in - moving forward, we use it to grow even closer to Hashem, even more kedusha. And when we look at someone else, we dont write them off, our job is to highlight the good, take that persons negative story and highlight the zchusim in it.

Like Yom Kippur, a wedding brings Kaparah through either a) the marriage itself b) the wedding inspires the person to do Teshuva or c) the specialness of the Mitzvah/Moment motivates you. The Torah uses Esav's wedding to teach us about Teshuva - Esav is not perfect by any means, but he is a Yid and the wedding sparks our neshamos, all of us - no matter our level. We can use the koach of 14 Kislev to apply this to us in our daily avodah. Marriage between man & woman has a purpose of Peru Urevu. Marriage of Hashem and Yidden has a purpose of Torah, Mitzvos. When you teach someone to do a mitzvah, mekarev another with coming closer to Torah, Mitzvos or Yidden, these are peiros of peru urevu. We live now in disorderly times, the world is crazy - if something comes your way - just grab it! (ie Dorm Food Mentality). "A chassid is like a soccer player, if the ball comes your way, you gotta kick it!" We have to save neshamos! I commit. Hashem kicks in. My commitment = wedding day. This commitment = uplifts, give koach, enables me to be more committed. This brings a cycle of Koach! But I might think: what about me, im not great enough..im really low - your past doesnt matter (Esav)! I make it my business to commit to Hashems work and the Rebbes directives of doing my shlichus, and Hashem will uplift and empower! And this will bring about the complete marriage between Hashem & the Yidden with Moshiach!

8. Emor: Pintele Yid Chinuch

May 1, 2018

“The basis of chinuch is that all the child’s needs are being met - physical, emotional, spiritual.”“Educating children and influencing others brings you personal redemption."This sicha spoke about "pintele yid chinuch"A comment from when we first discussed it " i was listening to the part abt holding high standards like the kohen even when the child doesn’t understand and doesn’t want that. Today one of my students shared a story abt the group that was brought after the Chernobyl disaster to kfar Chabad. The organizers were concerned abt a huge group of girls that came with their own clothing. Should they have standards of tznius? The Rebbe answered that the standard should be high to the level of the community. But they should buy the girls really nice clothing. Thought that was a nice example of this type of chinuch. Going for the high standard but making it something that works for this child."

149. Noach: Truth Deeper Than Logic

Oct 20, 2023

29:35

How do we ground ourselves in this world that believes insane things? Why does the Rambam find it integral to teach us the history of avodah Zara through times of Noach, Avraham and Moshe Rabbeinu. Can we rely on our minds only as logical truths? What do we need to do to solidify ourselves in sanity and emes? Today's learning is sponsored by one of our listeners in zchus of a special IDF Chayal - Eyal Natan Ben Liora who is in Eretz Hakodesh defending our people. May Eyal and all the chayalim witness complete miracles beyond our comprehension! (Chelek Chof pg 13)

50. Vayikra: Humility & Greatness

Mar 13, 2019

25:45

"Empowering & beautiful sicha! Chinuch for ourselves ~ how do we view ourselves? How do we view others? Through a conversation with the Tzemach Tzedek & the Alter Rebbe, our Rebbe highlights an integral message Torah is telling us - Adam is written with a big Alef, even after the ""Chait Eitz Hadaas"" - because of his G-d given incredible greatness, essential to him, unmarred by his mistakes. In Vayikra, the alef is written in small - telling us of Moshes humility. Moshe KNEW of his greatness - did not let it ""get to his head"" and he seeked to compare himself to others, and note of their greatness. This is not just a simple piece, its a direct Chinuch Answer from A""R to T""T ~ and a DIRECTION for each of us! (Adam in Us) We must have an honest awareness of our essential greatness! We are a piece of Hashem! We must know our abilities and inherent greatness, regardless of our mistakes or our past. (Moshe in Us) And yet, we must understand that greatness can be a ""trip up"". We remain humble and understand the bigger picture, being able to make proper choices in life. #1 Ingrain in yourself that your talent is a GIFT, I didnt make it, I only choose what to DO with it. and #2: Seek out the greatness in others! Get to know how incredible you are and then tap into it! Right now - you have the big Alef ~ you can rise above! you can accomplish! Regardless of my previous habits, past, etc. And look at others and realize, if someone else had these gifts, they could use it better. Look at others & seek out their greatness, talent and beauty!"Likkutei Sichos chelek yud zayin, page 1

Oct 4, 2018

Parshas Bereishis. Empower Women. How is it that Adam Harishon tripped up and ate from Eitz Hadaas? How is it that we do the same thing - something that seems so easy to do right, and yet we find ourselves falling short? And what was Chavas role in the Eitz Hadaas? What has changed since Matan Torahs time? This is a very empowering Sicha and a beautiful start to a new year! Going strong into Parshas Bereishis, making time to learn and making time to strengthen us women!Likkutei Sichos, Chelek Gimmel, first page
